Description

The Tioga River finishes it's miles long meander North from Pennsylvania to meet the Cohocton River thus forming the Chemung River in the town of Painted Post N.Y. Traveling initially in an overall Easterly direction, it passes through the notable City of Corning and later Elmira in N.Y. before turning South into Pennsylvania. Note: there is a small dam across the river in the city of Elmira!!!! Aproximately 6 Mi. as the crow flies, beyond the P.A. border, the Chemung Joins and is a tributary of the Susquehanna River. This body is navigable, but only when rainfall permits.
