Kalamazoo River

Description

This is a river that runs through a large portion of Kalamazoo and a few other surrounding cities nearby. Due to all the rain over the previous weekend, the river and other bodies of water nearby have risen significantly. The Kalamazoo River is great for kayaking and canoeing, there isn't a lot of debris in the water, and if you are to tip over by some odd circumstance, most of the time the water is shallow enough you can see, and/or touch the bed. There is a lot of wildlife nearby, and the river is decently taken care of due to that. I have seen snakes, fish, and turtles all over on the banks and on fallen trees in the river. There are a couple different branches that fork off the main river, I have only gone one of ways possible and floated through to Comstock. I highly recommend this river for anyone who is a beginner to kayaking or canoeing, it is great for family trips or large groups, due to the size.
