The St. Johns River is the longest river in Florida, at 310 miles long.  It flows through 12 counties, moving from northeast Florida to the Atlantic Ocean.  At its largest point, the St. John’s River is almost 3 miles wide! There is an upper and a lower basin of this river. This river is special because it flows south to north, instead of north to south. Since at its start, it includes a network of marshes, it is brackish water.
