Lots more rapids, Last nasty is the hardest single drop with the most objective hazards, but there is one or two long rapids in the upper that require some good read and run creek boating skills. I describe the whole run as class IV+ but if you needed to scout every class IV rapid you would be in there forever. Willingness to read and run as well as get verbal beta from one person scouting would be a must.

Ok Everyone- we got about two weeks to mail in postcards.

Thanks to every paddler who has helped me distribute these! If several of us put forth a tiny bit of time and outreach, we can potentially reach lots of folks who sincerely care about Protecting The Skykomish from unnecessary Hydro development.

If you haven't found me and gotten postcards to have mailed into FERC, please do.

If you are a Snoho County Resident you have a stake in what happens as a ratepayer and your voice especially should be heard.

At this point I don't have much time left to keep updating here on PP and checking PM's. It's better to contact me directly.

Welcome to the NW! There are some good options close to OLY, Nisqually and Toutle. MIddle Middle of Snoqualmie and Green Lower gorge are good places to start. The Wenatchee on the East side of the Mountains is the Classic play run and it is easy to hook up with paddlers over there as well. I live here in Olympia as well so feel free to private message me if you have any questions. Looking forward to paddling with you!

Tried to respond from my phone today but not sure it sent. Sound pretty much like our experience on the East Coast. We belong to a few clubs and do some club trips but over the years have developed a relationship with a large number of paddlers that we communicate with on social media. Already joined the WKC last night and reviewed some of their scheduled trips. When my wife and I get to the west coast we will join a few of the trips and begin developing relationships with folks that have similar paddling skills and desires.

Thanks again for the information. Hope to paddle with you sometime

Hey all,

I've been in the Seattle area for school since June but haven't been able to get out and meet some local paddlers. I normally run a tandem IK with the wife on II-III+ rivers. She's out of town this week with the little one which opens up some time for me. Just looking to jump in with another group if you don't mind one more. I'm happy to travel a couple hours.

Just to clarify, it's not my boat now. I have nothing to do with the sale.

Depends on inseam and weight.   I have a short inseam, 28 in. I had to sit all the way fwd to fit my wide feet into the foot bumps. The shred was built for 28 -32 inch inseam.

Prolly 30 to 31 is the magic number. Really you should squeeze in it. And it's not gonna be comfy. If you get, the
pain kinda fades with the onset of hypoxia;)

If you get it there's gonna be a learning curve, start somewhere mellow. A lake, or big eddy, there's a sandy beach a little current. Don't think your gonna run the sky yourself first time out.

PM me if you want to know more.
