Thanks for the offer! There were some shipping delays, so I don't think the boats are going to be in Portland until Monday. I'll let you know if something changes and they somehow make it there by Sunday.

 yes ! this is known as diurnal pattern. most rivers in spring melt behave in the classic warming of the day rising at night dropping in morning..... Also if its hot and late in the day it could be higher up stream of where the gauge is located.

I don't know where you're driving from, but if you're driving north on I-5, be aware that there's road repairs on I-5 between Everett and Marysville.  Northbound lanes are reduced down to one or two narrow lanes.  Northbound traffic have been backed up with l-o-n-g delays.  You will need to account for the traffic delay to calculate your drive time to Darrington for the meet up time.

You can park on old tester road on the south side of lord hill park and takeout under 522. It's a bit of a walk but not too bad.
