| Whitewater Forum : Suaittle River: PCT to Sulphur Creek |
Author: The NZA Subject: Suaittle River: PCT to Sulphur Creek Posted: 23 May 2016 at 9:59am I was hiking up the Suiattle River Trail yesterday and scouting (when I could)the river. Most of what i could see looked in the II/III range. The section I couldn't see well was the couple miles below Canyon Creek. I didn't check too far above the PCT either. Anyone have any beta on these sections? Anyone wanna run the PCT down? They look great for an Alpacka! And the Suaittle Road to the PCT would be a relatively easy 7 mile hike even with a creek boat. Good, well maintained trail. |

| Whitewater Forum : Upper Skagit |
Author: Slackkinhard Subject: Upper Skagit Posted: 23 May 2016 at 10:07am The previous post convinced me to ask since I didn't find anything with a search. Yesterday I traveled home westbound along hwy 20 and stopped to check out the upper Skagit as it cascaded down from the Diablo lake dam to Nehalem. INCREDIBLE is all I have to say. Having stopped and taken pictures in the past, even climbed down to where I didn't belong(Yes I realize it's a No Go zone), now that I've picked up kayaking, it had a totally different interest. Some of that stuff I don't know if it would go or not, but I'm pretty sure someone around here has tried??? Just wondering....PM if ya don't wanna air it out in public |

| Whitewater Forum : Cooper Wood Beta |
Author: JayN Subject: Cooper Wood Beta Posted: 23 May 2016 at 12:00pm https://youtu.be/fZ6pq6Tnics Video from our Cooper Lap yesterday... Mostly for wood Reference. The main piece that you have to watch out for is in the 2nd ledge below Norm's. You'll see a big log pile River Left (1:58) Eddy out and portage there. There is a second piece of wood in the ledge/slide between shark's tooth and wall of voodoo. We ran left, and just walked around it. At yesterday's flow, you could bump down the right side and skip it all together. Battery died at wall of voodoo, but nothing new to report there. |
