Whitewater Forum : Your cards are working! |
Author: JoesKayak Subject: Your cards are working! Posted: 26 Aug 2016 at 11:06am I'm registered with FERC so I get notified whenever someone sends in a comment to this docket. It's been great to see how many comments (a great deal of which are the postcards) have come in opposition. The opposition is huge. The comments in support (aside from those coming from the PUD) are almost non-existent. It seems pretty obvious, the public does not want this project to happen and we want the PUD to stop wasting our money pursuing it. In related news, Gordon Sibley, who is running for PUD commissioner won the primary and so will be going up against incumbent Toni Olson in the general election. Gordy is one of us and wants this project to stop. We can really use someone on our side. There are only 3 commissioner positions in the PUD, so getting one of the current members replaced would be huge. All of you registered to vote in Snohomish County PLEASE remember to vote in the November general election for Sibley! More info on his campaign here: www.gordyforpud.com/ https://www.facebook.com/gordyforpud |

Whitewater Forum : White Salmon or something Friday? |
Author: bobber2 Subject: White Salmon or something Friday? Posted: 26 Aug 2016 at 3:10pm From AW on the nooksack: 1) Avoid recreational activities that include contact access on the water (e.g. paddling, fishing, wading) from August 15th to October 15th. During this period of low water, which occurs during the Chinook spawning period, fish are particularly vulnerable to disturbance from boats that pass overhead or individuals wading in the river. An exception is allowed at higher flows above 1000 cfs (as measured by the USGS gauge). |

Whitewater Forum : Aquaseal |
Author: Travisimo Subject: Aquaseal Posted: 27 Aug 2016 at 12:05am Lacquer thinner cuts almost anything, acrylic thinner is milder and doesn't dry skin as badly. (you're likely not gonna have this unless you paint cars...) I know this info is WAY too late cause it's dry now... but lacquer thinner is sold at Home Depot, and I think everyone should have a gallon of it. I learned from painting cars that it cuts everything... it even melts some plastic so be careful. Almost nothing thins (read removes when wet) aqua seal, since it's awesome! Luckily skin will eventually remove it by itself since its dry now! Buy some lacquer thinner for cleaning your boat before welding next time and for removing the "temporary" duct tape patch you used when you finally decide to drill the ends of that crack and weld it up. It works on almost everything, but be careful it doesn't melt whatever you're cleaning. Nothing touches dried aqua seal. Oh, and don't use it in California... it causes cancer there. ![]() Edited by Travisimo - Today at 12:13am |

Whitewater Forum : Aquaseal |
Author: megspk Subject: Aquaseal Posted: 27 Aug 2016 at 1:47pm Thanks for all the ideas!! I tried alchohol, purell, soap, and nail polish remover, none of which worked. I bought sone wipes from "Grime Boss" that helped decrease the amount of stickiness from the glue, but did not remove it. My fingers still stuck together for several hours after aquasealing myself and using the wipes. I'd have to say friction and a crap load of handwashing eventually did the trick. Next time I'm wearing gloves. |
