Description
The only reason this run exists today is because of the Wasatch Front. Societies insatiable need for water caused the Strawberry tunnel to pipe water here for roughly 4 miles. This then drains down sixth water into Diamond Fork creek and ultimately west towards the Wasatch Front. Otherwise the bulk of water seen here would flow east to the Green River (via the Strawberry River) and become California and Nevada's water.
Without getting into too much of the history of this run there is currently a few sections left that are runnable. Many kayakers in northern Utah get their first waterfall/slide boof accomplished here. The main section is referred to as Unborn Soul. Some love this run and some hate this run. Go run it and decide for yourself.
Rapids
| # | Rapid | Class | Recommended flow | Description | Scout |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dam Drop | IV+ to V | 35–100 | This drop is actually running the spillway. As such you run the risk of sharp pointy things, like cut conrete or rebar. Look at running near the right wall. |
Scout and make the call if you want to run this or not. |
| 2 | Unborn Soul | V- to V | 35–100 | This is a 2 drop feature. Look at running the top section near the left to get you squeezed through the slot in the right position. The lower drop is easier and more lines are available. |
Access

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Park-n-Play | Tunnel Spillway | 7,455 Feet | No | No | No | 4WD Only | Getting to Sixth Water may be the hardest part of this run. Depending on road conditions you may need serious 4 wheel drive or just a basic vehicle with some clearance. Check out the local utah kayak forums to find out if anyone has been here for conditions. You can reach the tunnel exit from either Highway 6 and Diamond Fork roads or from Strawberry Reservoir. Your best bet is to take a look at the google map GPS point included here and use google maps to get you directions. |
