Description
Although world famous for its climbing, Eldorado Canyon also offers an espresso creeking fix for local boaters. Less than a mile in length and along a well maintained dirt road with climber's trails throughout, this run is easy to scout in its entirety. A common method is to drop boats at the top (right after the road crosses a bridge) park at the bottom (I suggest the first parking lot after the entrance) and walk the run.
Since the 2013 floods, like many runs, it changed a bit, some for the better and some for the worse. The channel was scoured deeper, so most of the run is cleaner. However, the pool at the bottom of Harmon falls dropped significantly making it look much worse. I heard an unconfirmed rumor that it was run this year, but most people will chose to walk it due to a very thin line into a questionably deep pool with a very tricky entrance.
The rest of the run is low volume technical steep creeking with a couple nice clean ledges in the 6-8 foot range.
Note that either a State Parks pass or entrance fee is required to enter the park.
