Description
The middle portion of Rio Urique isn't as difficult of a stretch as the upper run but it is still committing. Copper canyon deepens to almost a mile in depth here. Because of the hike in and the length of this run, advanced and expert overnight kayakers should only consider ticking this off.
At reasonable spring flows and rain flows this run should sit around a class IV range. At times scouting can be difficult in the canyon where the walls may rise steeply off of the river bank.
I added this run to complete the Rio Urique sections but haven't personally run it. If anyone has info on rapids or other info feel free to add it. My guess is this doesn't see a lot of descents due to the remote and committing nature of this area.

Access
| Type | Name | Elevation | Camping | Water | Boat ramp | Vehicle access | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Put-In | Divisadero Trail | 4,189 Feet | No | No | No | All Vehicles | The hike in to the putin will be as interesting as the actual descent. See the take out on the upper section for more info. |
| Take-Out | Town of Urique | 1,778 Feet | No | No | No | All Vehicles | Take the windy road down to the village of Urique deep in Copper Canyon. Where the main road ends in the village is a small road to the west that will lead down to the river. This is as good a place as any to access the river. |
