Description
When the upper section runs at flows above 800cfs, it is a solid V. Steep, lots of holes, and of course the menacing threat that if you swim you'll be swimming forever. Swims have gone as far as Frisco, 4 miles downstream. One season both clerks of the local kayak shop, located at the base of the Middle Ten Mile dislocated their shoulders on this run. And then there's the bridge. The bridge at officer's gulch cannot be run at most flows and there are few if any eddies. You'll need to stop at Officer's to scout an eddy above the bridge before putting on. That said, its tremendous fun.
Put in off I-70 Eastbound by pulling onto the grass near a large boulder as things begin to feel steeper.
