Description
Gore Creek has the unusual characteristic that the Upper Section is easier than the lower. Starting from anywhere is East Vail there are a few fish ladders creating fun play and some nice rock dodging on this class II+ to IV- run. Wide ranging flows can really alter the character of this run so be sure your skills and the conditions are aligned.
Rapids
| # | Rapid | Class | Recommended flow | Description | Scout |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Vail Competition Wave | I | —–— | This is a one feature whitewater park built for the Teva/GoPro games. It is unique in that it has powered bladders that control the wave shape. You need a key to access the controls and the wave can be less than ideal without fine tuning. Contact Alpine Quest in Edwards, CO for information on key access. |
