Description

The Upper Fryingpan section rarely has adequate flows.  The run is located roughly 10-20 miles upstream of Basalt.  When it has sufficient water, it provides a fairly long set of fun class IVish boulder garden rapids.  Most of the rapids have a creeky feel with ample eddy hopping opportunities and a few fun boof rocks.  I expect wood is a frequent hazard in this area.  I've only run this once and at a flow of 525 cfs.  It was enough water, but would have been better with more.
