We seem to be one of the exceptions to that rule as we've hired everyone in our class that was reasonably successful and wanted to work. It's true that a lot of people never end up choosing to work on the river. Of course we are a smaller company and typically only have 6-10 people in training each year.

Oh, and it's worth noting that we train to guide our main river and not Class 2. We also don't require any "guide training" work-for-free type trips after training is over. If you are on the river with us and working you get paid.

The goverment has already won, cus you local folks up there allowed the access to be shut down and if people cant get back there, they will not care. Need to start with the local land owners and get them off thier asses. Let people back there like in the old days... I was born here and getting sick of loosing access to everything! Asshole people think they own everything while people like me work thier asses off and pay taxes just to loose in the long run....sick off it!

I am thinking of doing a four or five day trip on the lower Owyhee River in Oregon. Chances are that the flow and take out conditions will push me into my smaller raft so it is likely that this will be a self support.

Anyone interested in going?

Restart chrome, if that doesn't work clear the cache. If that still doesn't work restart your computer, and if that doesn't work restart your modem and router, and if it STILL doesn't work reinstall chrome. If none of those fix it I'll be shocked.

I'm interested in doing a little work at the split rock takeout and was wondering if there was other interest out there that would like to help or plan something. Or if there are any types of funds out there for this kind of stuff.

It would be nice to drop a yard or two of gravel and sand to fill in the pot holes and level it out a little. It would be quick and easy work with a handful of people and a truck and trailer.
