Whitewater Forum : ID kayak checkpoint |
Author: otterend Subject: ID kayak checkpoint Posted: 12 May 2017 at 8:38pm Idaho has stepped up its border inspections for aquatic invasive species. You gotta stop at the border checkpoint station for the officials to look at (and in) your kayak and raft, and maybe get a free hot wash. I blew by the inspection station as we entered from Nevada returning from the GC. The po po pulled us over and sent us 20 miles back. A boater friend from ID tells me there will be a new boat inspection station on Lolo Pass and one in Lewiston, ID too. I don't know what they are doing about Aquatic Invasive Species stickers. In Idaho, only inflatable kayaks less than 10' are exempt. The stickers are $7 online. Chris |
