Description

Phantom Ranch is a popular place for a couple of reasons.  It is the only place where 2 suspension bridges cross the Colorado River for about 200 miles.  It is also the mid point of the popular rim to rim Bright Angel Trail.

Several cabins exist here as well as a post office.  Many rivers like to send postcards from here as the post mark on the card shows "Mailed by Mule" from the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

The Ranch was built and evolved in the 1920's and 1930's.  President Teddy Roosevelt helped to establish this ranch and the Cabins are now on the historical preservation list.
