Ogden River - Ogden Narrows

Utah-US

Description

For those boaters that live in Ogden this is a great intermediate to advanced run when the water is flowing.  Since this river is dam controlled, good flows can be sporadic but can also possibly last well into the late season (on good water years).

This run is boxed in the canyon with the road on the south side of the river.  There is a lot of construction debris in the water as the road was put in place.  This adds the fun and the danger to this run.  Several good drops with possibly retentive holes as well as a rocky and bumpy stream bed make swimming here very undesirable.  If your brace isn't bomber and you can't quickly roll, you may want to look elsewhere to get your whitewater giggles.
