Description

This is a less run portion of the Snake in Alpine Canyon.  There is a nice class III rapid here called the narrows but you have to float a small section of Palisade Reservoir to get to the take-out.

If you decide to run this you should consider running the main Alpine section first to make it worth your while.

Rapids

# Rapid Class Recommended flow Description Scout
1 The Narrows III- to III+ 4,000–15,000

A final narrowing of the river before it drains into Palisade.  If the reservoir is high this rapid gets covered up.

Scout from the road as you drive up canyon.  Check for good flows and reservoir height if you want to hit this when its available.
