Whitewater Forum : CC Stilly wood situation? Author: turtlepower
Subject: CC Stilly wood situation?
Posted: 05 Nov 2015 at 10:45am

Yup update has been posted, run is clean and good to go. There may be a small piece of wood on double drop but that is uncertain as all I noticed was a small sapling sticking out of the water near the left wall in the right channel and at any rate didn't pose a threat or concern. Go get some! Run at higher than 5.6 though otherwise you might hit a rock after the first drop in double drop that could screw up your line.

Whitewater Forum : Northfork Skykomish Update Author: huckin harms
Subject: Northfork Skykomish Update

Drove up around Jack's pass on Tuesday. The road to the put in at Drumbeater has been trashed. Three major rock avalanches occurred dumping massive amounts of debris down on the road. One section of road will need replacement due to the buckling of the asphalt.

I ran into a county supervisor who reassured me that they still intend to get to work on the washout at Trout, fall of 2016. He was super bummed to see the road carnage and explained what a pain it is to get trucks over the pass to clean up the mess. That's one of their reasons for wanting to fix the Trout washout.

Good news. The wood at Drumbeat is flushed, so that's clean for the intrepid class fiver- sticky sticky ledge. The rest of the run is squeaky clean with the exception of wood at Let's Make a Deal, open slot on far River R.

Based on my experience the gauge is off by at least 1k. Yesterday's run revealed this to be the case. Gauge reading was 4800 but felt and looked like 6k, based on a several rocks I've used in the past for levels.

No major changes, NF channels are deeper, a slightly new iteration below House rocks in BD, and Split was 'in' fluffy.

Gotta love having snowpack back in the mnts as it keeps the river up higher for longer!
